One of the places I have always wanted to go was the great NYC, and in the spring of 2014 I got to fulfill that dream. I went with my mother as an early graduation present. We stayed in an amazing hostel on the upper west side and got to see some amazing things while in the city.

One day we went on a city tour and we got to see many of the standard tourist destinations. We went to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Ground Zero, the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Little Italy. It was so much fun to see all of the “New York” things. I actually loved riding the subway.
My favorite part about visiting New York though was going to a few broadway shows. One of the things on my bucket list was to see a broadway performance and while I was in New York I was lucky enough to see three! First, I saw The Cripple of Inishmaan starring Daniel Radcliffe. It was absolutely amazing and it was fantastic to see such a great perform live. The second show was Phantom of the Opera, which happens to be one of my favorite (though next time I would love to see Les Miz). The last performance we went to, and my favorite, was Of Mice and Men starring James Franco and Chris O’Dowd. It was a completely outstanding performance, but Chris O’Dowd really stole the show.

New York is definitely a place I would love to visit again, I would love to go and just see a bunch of different plays. I would also like to see Ellis Island and see how some of my ancestors came to the States.
Manhattan skyline – awesome photo!

Thank you. I took that on top of the Empire State Building – it was quite breath taking up there.
